Eoarchean to Neoproterozoic Detrital Zircons from the South of Meiganga Gold-Bearing Sediments (Adamawa, Cameroon): Their Closeness with Rocks of the Pan-African Cameroon Mobile Belt and Congo Craton

The core of detrital zircons from the southern Meiganga gold-bearing placers were analyzed by Laser Ablation Split Stream analytical techniques to determine their trace element abundances and U-Pb ages. obtained data used characterize each grain, its formation condition, try provenance. Hf (5980 12,010 ppm), Y (27–1650 U (25–954 Th (8–674 Ti (2–256 Ta, Nb, Sr (mainly <5 Th/U (0.06–2.35), zircon temperature (617–1180 °C), ∑REE (total rare earth element) (98–1030 Eu/Eu* (0.03 <1.35) are predominant values for igneous crustal-derived zircons, with very few mantle sources metamorphic origin. Crustal mainly inherited grains crystallized in granitic magmas (with some charnockitic tonalitic affinities) a syenitic melts. Mantle depleted source magmatic intrusion during crustal opening. Metamorphic grown sub-solidus solution equilibrium garnet “syn-metamorphic zircons” anatectic melts “anatectic tectono-metamorphic events. (3671 ± 23–612 11 Ma) ages distinguish: Eoarchean Neoproterozoic zircons; Neoarchean Mid Paleoproterozoic Late syn-metamorphic grains. Mesoarchean Middle probably pyroxene-amphibole-bearing gneiss (TTGs composition) amphibole-biotite gneiss, whose features similar those granites, granodiorites, TTG, charnockites found Congo Craton, south Cameroon. youngest could be eroded Pan-African intrusion(s) locally. Anatectic have originated underlying zircon-gold bearing locally migmatized rocks that Cameroon mobile belt, which as proxies tracking gold.
